Were you also at The Enemies Project breakout session? I loved that one. I will be asking your question—“What’s the best thing in your life right now?”—of any and everyone this week. I’m eager to see how it goes.

I was! It was really cool--I'm actually going to train to become a mediator through the org that trained Larry, because I loved how he could help us see each others' souls.

And sounds fun! Keep me posted :)

Very good reminder. Thank you for this article.

Your thoughts on retail workers reminds me of janitors and other cleaning staff who I think are similarly invisible. In my work, I ask a lot of people what they like most about their job. One of my favorite answers was from a lady who was a housekeeper at a hotel, talking about how much she enjoyed making sure people had a good trip, and one time she recognized a couple who had gotten married had returned for their anniversary because of their unique luggage; and she got their room again. She took extra care to make sure it was perfect for them.

Similarly, I know several retail people who do the work because they want to be in a social position, have a job interacting with people. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn't. But there really are a lot of cool stories where you don't expect them.
