I Talk About Why Critical Race Theory Won't Solve Racism On Amanda Vanstone's Counterpoint
I had a ton of fun talking about a topic very near to my heart on Amanda Vanstone’s show Counterpoint: the evils of racism and why we need sound tools to beat it. Racism is what psychologists call an attractor: a big, complex problem with a lot of moving parts. Because it’s so complex, we need sound methodological tools to reduce its impact and reduce the drive towards prejudice in ourselves and others. Critical Race Theory, unfortunately, rejects the epistemological tools of the West and replaces them with circular reasoning and unfalsifiable assumptions. To put it another way: if we want something that can actually reduce or even solve racism in the West, CRT doesn’t cut it.
You can listen to the episode here (I come in at the 15 minute mark, and speak for about 15 minutes): Critical race theory won’t solve racism (Counterpoint)
