I really enjoyed my recent conversation with Amanda Vanstone, on Counterpoint, about the importance of civility. It turns out that (to borrow terms from the great Alexandra Hudson) civility isn’t just an inherent good; it’s also an instrumental good. Or to put it another way: civility isn’t just morally right, it’s also strategically sound.
